William Hill’s iOS Sports Mobile Gambling Betting App Hits Two Million Download Mark

It seems UK bookmaker William Hill (WH) will be getting the best results from its mobile gambling preparations and initiatives. Its iOS sports betting app went past the two million-download mark during the first week of the 2014 FiFA World Cup Event.

WH’s sportsbetting app was first launched in 2012 and went on to hit the one million mark after a year, and by early 2014 the number of downloads reached 1.5 million. The numbers quickly rose to two million since day one of the 2014 World Cup games. After all, the UK bookmaker made a timely launch of its iOS sports app in Spain and in Italy, weeks before the advent of the international football competition.

William Hill attributed 45 percent of its first quarter sportsbook turnover to mobile sportsbetting, and the percentage is likely to go higher in conjunction with the number of downloads that brought the mobile sports app to the two million mark. WH’s app is available for downloaded at WilliamHill.com’s Mobile Sports section or at Apple’s App Store and works compatibly with iPhones, iPods and iPads supported by iOS version 5.5.1 or higher.

Sports betting enthusiasts can place bets on the wide range of betting markets offered online, which WH claims to comprise all that a punter would find in the Internet, including in-play betting. The app provides accurate and real time scores across all sports, and available to all WH mobile sports app users.

The Operations Director of William Hill Online Juergen Reutter views the two million downloads as a fantastic achievement, commenting that it is “one of which we are extremely proud.”
