Will Failla Takes the Win at the 2011 Legends of Poker WPT Championship

The 2011 Legends of Poker WPT Championship has ended after five continuous days of poker action at the Bicycle Casino. Will “The Thrill” Failla was the last player standing, beating out Josh Pollock, Jeff Vertes, Ken Aldridge, Adam Aronson, Owais Ahmend and Ray Henson at the final table. The tournament this year had a massive $2.5M prize pool, 757 registered players with Will Failla walking away with $758,085 in cash and the Legends of Poker trophy.

WPT Title

With this win, this is Will “The Thrill” Failla’s first WPT title of his nearly ten year and now $3M poker career.

Even though Failla went low on chips starting early, he was able to regain the top when he knocked out Ahmed. With calls of “You Can’t Stop Destiny” coming from the rails, Failla was able to double up when he took on Aldridge in a game changing move against Vertes.

Legends of Poker

Failla stated that the Legends of Poker WPT Season X win came in second to the birth of his son as the greatest moments in his lifetime.

These are the Legends of Poker Main Event Final Table results:

Will Failla – First – $758,,085
Ken Aldridge – Second – $365,800
Jeff Vertes – Third – $186,400
Joshua Pollock – Fourth – $128,500
