The World Poker Tour Legends of Poker continued over the weekend in Bell Gardens, California. As of Sunday evening, Jeff Vertes led the field of 21 players.

On day one of play, 181 players were eliminated. Of those players, 116 decided to try again in this year’s first-ever allowed re-entry. Re-entry was allowed only for those who busted earlier in the day.

Another incentive was that the buy-in was reduced from 2010’s $5,000 to $3,500 this year.

Besides Vertes, other players making a run for the $758,085 are David Daneshgar, Owais Ahmed, Ken Aldridge, Christina Lindley, Shawn Buchanan, Will Failla, James Carroll, Matt Kay, Brent Hanks, Dan Heimiller and Ray Henson.

The event will begin again on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 4 p.m. ET. Play will continue until the field has been reduced to six, which will make up the table for the final round. The final round will be broadcast online live at 7:30 ET.
