The Machine Games Duty tax is being assessed before its final implementation. The assessment was called for by the British Beer and Pub Association because of the potential annual loss to pubs. The British Beer and Pub Association are estimating that around £11.9m will be the cost and continue to push for lower taxation.

Amusement Machine Licence Duty

The current tax known as the Amusement Machine Licence Duty has worked perfectly fine and all involved understand the taxation law. However, the new tax law may over-complicate matters and crush pub business.

British Beer and Pub Association

The Chief Executive of the British Beer and Pub Association believes that pubs that are already hurting for money, have found a saving grace from gaming machines. He also feels that it is absolutely imperative that the new legislation not tack on net costs for the pub sector.
